01The film
Scroll down, and the room gets built.Scroll down, and the room gets built.
We’ll start with the part we’re proudest of. The home page opens on a bare concrete shell. As you scroll, a short film of that same room plays forward until it’s finished and furnished. Scroll back up and it comes apart again. Over the top sit the four stages Arcos works in: Listen, Plan, Execute, Handover.
Every frame is a keyframe
Eight seconds, 192 frames, each one stored whole. The browser can jump to any point in the film without working forward from the last keyframe, which is why it doesn’t stutter.
Its own cut for phones
A phone held upright gets a portrait version cropped from the full-size master, so nobody downloads a wide film just to throw most of it away.
No scroll library
We tried GSAP’s ScrollTrigger first. It measured the pinned section wrong and nudged the page on refresh, so the page now reads its own scroll position every frame.
Reduced motion
If someone has asked their device for less motion, there’s no film at all. They get one still of the finished room, with all four stages written out.
02The brief
A logo, an Instagram page, and three things they wouldn’t budge on.A logo, an Instagram page, and three things they wouldn’t budge on.
When we first sat down with Arcos they had no website at all. The brief was short, and they were sure of every line of it.
It had to feel premium.
People hand Arcos the keys to their homes. The site has to earn that trust before anyone picks up the phone.
The colours had to come from the logo.
Bronze on warm white, with the logo’s olive kept for small details. Nothing borrowed from anywhere else.
It couldn’t look like AI made it.
That ruled out stock photos, generated images and templates before we drew anything.
03The build
Everything on the site is theirs.Everything on the site is theirs.
We didn’t download a single image or generate one. Every room you see is a room Arcos designed, and every page was written for that project alone. Five main pages, nine project pages, all put together by hand.
- Layout
- Safir, our founder, is an architect. He placed every section and component the way he would lay out a plan: what you meet first, where you stop, what comes next.
- Photographs
- All of them are Arcos projects. We pulled the original files out of their profile deck rather than screenshotting it, so nothing on the site is softer than the day it was shot.
- Words
- Arcos sent photos for each project and nothing else. We looked at every set and wrote each project page from what the pictures showed.
- Colour
- Taken straight from the logo. The browns carry the headings and the marks; the olive turns up only where something needs a second look.
- Hosting
- We set it up on Netlify, with a deploy script that checks every file a page asks for before anything goes live.
04On a phone
Most people will meet it on a phone. Most people will meet it on a phone.
So the phone got the same care as the desktop. The film has its own portrait cut, the layouts restack properly, and the project pages keep their photographs at full width. Nothing here is the desktop site squeezed smaller.
This is all five pages, top to bottom, recorded on the live site.
